- NumberFormat.simpleCurrency parsing accepts both a symbol-prefixed value and the same localized number without its currency symbol.
- NumberFormat.simpleCurrency for JPY uses zero decimal places while currency with only an explicit yen symbol inherits the locale's decimal digits.
- NumberFormat.percentPattern multiplies by 100 and its locale pattern displays no fraction digits by default, while decimalPercentPattern can preserve them.
- NumberFormat.compactCurrency uses an ISO code while compactSimpleCurrency uses the currency symbol.
