  1. model.Metric and model.LabelSet create and represent Prometheus metric label sets, validating label names and UTF-8 label values.
  2. model.Metric.Fingerprint and model.Metric.FastFingerprint compute deterministic 64-bit FNV-1a hash fingerprints invariant to map key insertion order.
  3. model.Metric.String formats metric names and labels in sorted canonical Prometheus exposition format.
  4. model.Metric.Clone and model.Metric.Equal provide value equality checks and independent deep copies.
  5. model.LabelSet.Merge merges disjoint and overlapping label sets with right-hand precedence, and model.LabelSet.Validate rejects invalid label identifiers.
  6. model.Sample associates metric metadata with numeric float64 sample values and millisecond-precision model.Time timestamps.
  7. model.ParseDuration parses Prometheus duration strings including hours and multi-day suffixes into standard time.Duration.
