- assert Mustermann.new raises ArgumentError on unrecognized router configuration options unless ignore_unknown_options: true is explicitly configured
- assert default space_matches_plus: true matches '+' in URLs against pattern spaces, whereas space_matches_plus: false treats '+' literally
- assert regex anchors (^ or $) inside capture: constraints silently prevent route matching, whereas unanchored regexes match correctly
- assert capture: constraints support POSIX symbols (:digit, :alpha) and array value whitelists for parameter validation
- assert except: option cleanly excludes protected sub-routes from matching wildcard patterns
- assert Sinatra pattern expand fails with Mustermann::ExpandError when optional segment keys are omitted, whereas Rails pattern expand (type: :rails) gracefully resolves optional segments
- assert type: :identity disables parameter tokenization and matches the route pattern as a raw literal string
