# Notes: Rollup CommonJS Plugin Dynamic Require Handling

## Search Result
`search_known_solution` returned `NO_SAFE_MATCH` for `ignoreDynamicRequires` in `@rollup/plugin-commonjs@28.0.7`. Existing samples for this major line cover `strictRequires`, `requireReturnsDefault`, and `transformMixedEsModules`. This sample demonstrates how the plugin handles dynamic `require(...)` calls via the `ignoreDynamicRequires` option.

## Naive Model Assumption
A developer or coding model assumes that when bundling CommonJS modules with Rollup, dynamic `require(specifier)` expressions (where the argument is a variable or expression rather than a string literal) are simply left untouched as native `require()` calls in the output bundle.

## Failure Mode
By default (`ignoreDynamicRequires: false`), `@rollup/plugin-commonjs` rewrites dynamic `require(...)` calls into a generated `commonjsRequire` helper that unconditionally throws at runtime: `Error: Could not dynamically require "...". Please configure the dynamicRequireTargets or/and ignoreDynamicRequires option of @rollup/plugin-commonjs appropriately for this require call to work.`
Even when executed in Node.js where `require` is available, any invocation of dynamic requires crashes with this error.
Setting `ignoreDynamicRequires: true` prevents the plugin from rewriting dynamic requires into the throwing helper, leaving the raw `require(...)` call intact in the output. Furthermore, when `dynamicRequireTargets` is configured, `ignoreDynamicRequires: true` causes unmatched dynamic require calls to fall back to native `require(path)` instead of throwing.
