Contract

  1. ms parses human-readable duration strings (e.g. '2 days', '1d', '10h', '2.5 hrs', '1m', '5s', '1y') into milliseconds
  2. ms parses negative duration strings and numeric strings into milliseconds
  3. ms returns undefined for unparseable duration strings
  4. ms formats millisecond numbers into short human-readable duration strings (e.g. 60000 to '1m', 3600000 to '1h')
  5. ms formats millisecond numbers into long human-readable duration strings with the { long: true } option (e.g. 60000 to '1 minute', 120000 to '2 minutes')
  6. ms throws an Error when passed invalid input types or empty strings
